PATI - The Pati Regency Government, Central Java, stopped the implementation of face-to-face learning (PTM) and replaced it with online learning following the large number of clusters of COVID-19 transmission in education units.

"Because the Corona cases in Pati tend to increase, a policy has been taken to temporarily stop face-to-face learning," said Pati Regent Haryanto in Pati, quoted from Antara, Friday, February 11.

The decision was made as an anticipatory measure for the spread of the corona virus because the results of rapid antigen tests in samples at various schools from the elementary, junior high, to high school levels were found to be cases of students and teachers exposed to Corona. While the majority of cases found are family clusters.

Regarding the decision, the Pati Regency Government issued Circular Number 440/426 dated February 11, 2022 regarding the temporary suspension of face-to-face learning in all schools.

The letter stated that the emergence of a number of new clusters of COVID-19 transmission in education units in Pati Regency was also one of the reasons for the temporary suspension of PTM starting Monday, February 14 until the condition of the area was declared safe from corona cases.

The district government also facilitates students, teachers and caregivers who are known to be confirmed positive for COVID-19 to carry out independent or centralized isolation and conduct contact tracing.

Each school is also asked to sterilize equipment, facilities and student learning spaces in the school environment to keep the school environment safe and prohibit the implementation of school tours.

Meanwhile, from the data on COVID-19 cases in Pati as of today at 12.00 WIB, there are 247 positive confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of these, 95 people are undergoing treatment at the hospital and 152 people are undergoing isolation.
