16 People Flying Due To Floods In Jabodetabek

JAKARTA - The extreme rain that flushed the Jabodetabek area from Tuesday 31 December to Wednesday 1 January caused flooding. Apart from causing damage, the flood also caused the victim to die.

Until now, the data that BNPB has successfully collected, there are 16 people who died due to flooding, with details of eight people in DKI Jakarta, one person in Bekasi City, three people in Depok City, one person in Bogor City, one person in Bogor Regency, one person in Tangerang City, and one person in South Tangerang.

The following are the names of the victims who died:

Bogor Regency

Marsdianto (20), Puri Citayam Permai 2 Housing, Rawa Panjang Village, Bojonggede Subdistrict, Bogor Regency (the victim was swept away by the flood when the river that was right in front of his house hit the embankment).

City of Tangerang

South Tangerang

"Currently, BNPB is still collecting data from various sources and it is possible that the number of victims could increase," said Head of Data and Communication, Agus Wibowo, in a written statement, in Jakarta, Thursday, January 2.

Yesterday, Head of BNPB, Doni Monardo, said that his party together with the Provincial Government of DKI have prepared preparedness steps, as well as handling after a number of areas experienced flooding.

"Then BNPB has coordinated with TNI Headquarters and Police Headquarters to work together to organize all existing elements, assisted by the National SAR Agency and also by a number of volunteers including the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI)," said Doni, during a press conference at the Monas area, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, January 1.
