JAKARTA - The National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo ordered his entire staff to implement three special strategies to deal with the soaring spread of the COVID-19 variant of the Omicron.

"So of course we have to take steps as an effort to deal with the Omicron variant. One of the most priority is how we accelerate vaccination," said Sigit to his staff when giving a virtual briefing, Wednesday, February 9.

The first strategy that must be maximized is the acceleration of vaccination acceleration. Especially for the elderly (elderly).

"Of course, on this occasion I again remind you that with the increase in the Omicron variant, of course, what we have to do is follow strategies. So that we can carry out vaccinations in the farthest areas and of course this requires cooperation, a special strategy," said Sigit.

The implementation of the prokes is one of the keys to controlling the spread of COVID-19. This is because the Omicron variant has a faster transmission rate even though the fatality rate is lower than the Delta variant.
