Anita Kolopaking Refuses To Extend Her Detention Period

JAKARTA - Anita Kolopaking refused to extend his detention period as a suspect in the case of Djoko Tjandra's fake pass.

Anita Kolopaking advocate team spokesperson, Tito Hananta, said the rejection was the right of her client. But the reasons behind the rejection were not explained.

"Yes, that's right. He (Anita Kolopaking) refused. That is the right of the suspect to refuse," Tito told VOI, Tuesday, September 8.

Despite refusing to extend the term of detention, Anita is still in the detention center (Rutan) Bareskrim Porli.

So far, no other legal steps have been taken regarding Anita's detention. Moreover, investigators have not yet granted the request for a suspension of detention.

"We will focus on the main trial. We will later refute all of the prosecutors' charges," said Tito.

Anita's detention period was due to end on August 27. Thus, investigators decided to extend it for the next 40 days.

"Extension of detention from 28 August to 6 October 2020," said the Director of General Crimes at the National Criminal Investigation Police Brigadier General Ferdy Sambo.

Meanwhile, Anita Kolopaking was named a suspect in the fake pass. Anita, who is Djoko Tjandra's right hand man in handling the travel documents.

With the alleged involvement, Anita is suspected of having committed crimes under Article 263 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code and 223 Criminal Code.
