DKI Will Have 13 Special Hospitals For COVID-19 Treatment

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government projects 13 regional public hospitals (RSUD) to become health facilities that will handle COVID-19 special patients 100 percent.

This is stipulated in the Decree of the Head of the DKI Health Service Number 399 of 2020 concerning the Establishment of a Regional General Hospital that Fully Provides COVID-19 Disease Management Services.

Head of the Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) Division of the DKI Jakarta Health Service, Dwi Oktavia, said that these 13 RSUDs will fully handle COVID-19 after general patients have been treated and no longer accept patients other than COVID-19.

"After the non-COVID-19 patients who are still being treated have finished their treatment period, they will only accept COVID-19 patients," Dwi said when confirmed, Tuesday, September 8.

Dwi said, the projection of the stipulation of 13 special COVID-19 hospitals was carried out to increase the capacity of the treatment bed for COVID-19 patients. Because, currently the number of cases in DKI is increasing and the remaining isolation beds and ICU rooms are running low.

He said, these 13 hospitals had previously handled COVID-19 patients, but only as a referral hospital that did not fully treat patients infected with the corona virus.

"Now, it is different from the previous reference for COVID-19. If previously there were some areas of the hospital that were for COVID-19 patients, in different areas there were (treatments) for non-COVID-19 patients," Dwi explained.

In the Health Office Decree Number 399 of 2020, these 13 RSUDs have the task of providing COVID-19 services in all hospital service areas, transferring inpatient services and non-COVID-19 roads to other hospitals that serve non-COVID-19 patients. 19 according to the provisions.

In addition, there is the task of administering patient referral services and quality reference for COVID-19 specimens according to standards. Then, implement the COVID-19 service standards, service flow, room arrangement, and implementation of infection prevention and control (PPI) in all areas of the hospital.

Then, increase the necessary resources, develop facilities and infrastructure, the availability of drugs, medical devices, personal protective equipment, consumable medical materials, and other health resources. Also, record and report in accordance with the provisions.
