Man Claims To Be Positive For COVID-19 But Police Calls For Vacation In Malang

MALANG - Malang City Resort Police (Polresta) will summon the owner of the social media to account Reza Fahd Adrian, a tourist who claims to be exposed to COVID-19, but continues to carry out tourist activities in Malang City, East Java.

Head of Public Relations of Malang City Police Ipda Eko Novianto said that his party had sent a letter to Facebook account owner Raza Fahd Adrian to provide clarification.

"Malang City Police have sent an invitation letter to the owner of the account to clarify at the Malang City Police regarding the upload", said Eko in Malang, Monday, February 7.

Eko explained that due to the circulation of the upload by Reza Fahd Adrian's Facebook account, the Malang City Police had investigated by conducting digital monitoring. The police have also obtained the identity of the perpetrator.

"Malang City Police carry out digital monitoring and have pocketed the identity of the account owner in question", he said.

For information, Reza Fahd Adrian's Facebook account on January 27, 2022, stated that he had canceled his vacation to Bali because he was declared exposed to COVID-19 after undergoing a swab test when he was about to cross to the Bali area.

After the results of the swab test were confirmed to be positive for COVID-19, the account owner then did not take steps to handle it in the form of self-isolation but chose to travel in the Malang City and Batu City areas in East Java.

In the upload, the account owner Reza Fahd Adrian includes a photo of when he is in one of the modern retail stores in the Malang City area. When he was in one of the modern retail stores, he admitted that he was still exposed to the Coronavirus.

In fact, in the account, he also explained several symptoms felt due to exposure to the Omicron variant of the Coronavirus. He also stated that he had previously been exposed to the Delta variant of the Coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Malang Mayor Sutiaji stated that the identity of the owner of the Facebook account Reza Fahd Adrian had been known. His party has also communicated with the Malang City Police Chief to immediately request information from the owner of the account.

"I have coordinated with the Chief of Police. There has been a summons to come here. At this time I have not received much information", he said.

He added, if it is true that the owner of the Facebook account Reza Fahd Adrian still travels with a positive confirmed status of COVID-19, then this clearly violates the Law on Health Quarantine.

"We have to be vigilant, there are people who clearly violate the Health Quarantine Law. It's clear that they know that he is COVID-19, but instead wanders off", he said.

As a result of the upload which went viral on social media, the Malang City Government has traced the spread of the Coronavirus in one of the modern retail stores visited by the owner of the Reza Fahd Adrian account.

At the modern retail store, there are as many as 30 employees who undergo an antigen swab test. Of the total 30 employees who underwent the antigen swab test, one person tested positive for COVID-19.

Due to the presence of one employee who was exposed to the Coronavirus as a result of the tracking, the modern retail store on Jalan Semeru, Klojen District, Malang City had to be temporarily closed for approximately 14 days.
