Commission II Immediately Fit And Proper Test Candidates For KPU-Bawaslu Members

JAKARTA - Commission II of the DPR finally received an order from the leadership to immediately conduct a fit and proper test of candidates for members of the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) for the 2022-2027 period.

Chairman of Commission II of the DPR RI, Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tandjung, said that the leadership of the DPR and the Deliberative Body had recommended Commission II of the DPR to hold a fit and proper test for candidates for KPU-Bawaslu members.

Commission II of the DPR had previously scheduled a fit and proper test for candidates for KPU and Bawaslu members on February 14.

"We, Commission II, are recommended to carry out a mechanism or carry out the process of selecting new members of the RI KPU and the new RI Bawaslu for the 2022-2027 period," said Doli at the DPR Building, Monday, February 7. The Golkar Party politician explained that the stages began with the entry of Presidential Letter Number R-01/pres/01/2022, regarding candidates for KPU members and candidates for Bawaslu members for the 2022-2027 term of service to the DPR leadership table, on January 12, 2022.

"After the government formed the South Timor (selection team, ed) then South Timor did its work to produce 14 names for the RI KPU candidates and 10 names for the RI Bawaslu candidates were submitted to the President and then the President researched and finally sent a letter to the DPR to follow up the selection process," he said.

Doli continued, as regulated in Article 25 and Article 121 of Law Number 7 of 2017, the DPR was given 30 days to carry out the next selection process. against 14 names and candidates for KPU and 10 names for Bawaslu candidates who will later be elected to 7 people and for the RI KPU and 5 people for Bawaslu," explained Doli. KPU candidates and 10 Bawaslu candidates to the President. The fourteen names of KPU candidates are August Mellaz, Betty Epsilon Idroos, Dahliah, Hasyim Asy'ari, I Dewa Kade Wiarsa Raka Sandi, Idham Holik, Iffa Rosita, Iwan Rompo Banne, Mochammad Afifuddin, Muchamad Ali Safa'at, Parsadaan Harahap, Viryan, Yessy Yatty Momongan, and Yulianto Sudrajat. The names of the 10 candidates for Bawaslu are Aditya Perdana, Andi Tenri Sompa, Fritz Edwar d Siregar, Herwyn Jefler Hielsa Malonda, Lolly Suhenty, Mardiana Rusli, Puadi, Rahmat Bagja, Subair, and Totok Hariyono.
