Deputy Governor Cok Ace: Bali Is Ready To Become A Tourist Destination For Foreign Tourists

DENPASAR - The island of Bali has become one of the places for domestic and foreign tourists to visit with the new regulations for foreign travel by air transportation in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati or Cok Ace stated that the Island of the Gods was very ready for the new central government regulation.

"Bali is ready. We have even prepared it long ago and we have done several simulations. Bali has certified the quarantine hotels, there are 60 hotels," said Cok Ace at the Bali DPRD building, Monday, February 7.

According to him, of the 60 hotels, only a few hotels are being tested for quarantine for tourists who come to the Island of the Gods. The price for five days of quarantine at the hotel varies.

"But for the first time only used a few and at the same time we want to see a trial. (Hotel prices) vary depending on the facilities, each company has its own value. There are Rp11 million and Rp12 million with (facilities) everything for five days of quarantine ," he explained.

Even though the COVID-19 case was rising, Cok Ace ensured that the Bali Provincial Government had prepared everything to ensure health protocol procedures to welcome tourist arrivals.

"Now there are no tourists, the spike is already extraordinary. It has touched the figure of 2,000 above, which we have experienced before. We remain vigilant, however, we do not need to panic. We have not refused (to become a quarantine place), we have prepared," he explained.

The new rules are contained in Circular Number 11 of 2022 concerning Instructions for Implementing Overseas COVID by Air Transportation during the Covid-19 Pandemic Period which came into effect on February 3.

The Director General of Civil Aviation at the Ministry of Transportation, Novie Riyanto, said that during the enactment of this SE, Indonesian citizens and foreigners traveling to foreign destinations could only go through three airports.

"WNI and foreign nationals who travel abroad for tourist purposes can only go through I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, Hang Nadim Airport, Batam, and Raja Haji Fisabilillah Airport, Tanjung Pinang," the statement said.
