JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya has temporarily closed Jalan Sudirman-MH Thamrin and a number of areas, such as Jalan Gunawarman, Senopati-SCBD, and Kemang, Jakarta, from 00.00 WIB to 04.00 WIB, valid every day starting this Saturday.

"The closure is done to anticipate the increase in COVID-19 cases," said the Director of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes. Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 5.

Sambodo said that the rules for closing the area were for private vehicles, while vehicles for officers, ambulances and residents were allowed to enter the area.

In addition, members of the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya also diverted the flow of vehicles around Jalan Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta due to the construction of the MRT Jakarta infrastructure phase two starting Saturday at 23.00 WIB. "One way applies from the direction of Abdul Muis to Kebon Sirih," said Sambodo.
