Catholic Choir Sings Syubbanul Wathon At Harlah NU, Gus Yahya: NTT Miniatur Indonesia

LABUAN BAJO - The implementation of the 96th NU Harlah series which was held in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) was lively while still strictly implementing health protocols. The atmosphere grew solemn when singing the anthems Indonesia Raya and Syubbanul Wathon performed by the Catholic Youth Choir of West Manggarai Regency (Mabar), named Pesparani.

The Pesparani group, which seemed enthusiastic and united in singing verse after verse of the great NU songs to the accompaniment of music, received a direct expression of gratitude from the General Chairperson of PBNU KH Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya).

"In West Manggarai, NU does not have a choir, so we can ask the Catholic Youth Choir to sing Syubbanul Wathon. We express our gratitude," said Gus Yahya in his speech of the 96th NU Harlah with the theme "Caring for the Maritime Universe, Building a Fisherman's Civilization", in Labuan Bajo, NTT, Saturday 5 February.

On the occasion, Gus Yahya said that NTT is a miniature of Indonesia with full of diversity. This is also one of the reasons why PBNU made NTT one of the four places for the 98th NU Harlah series.

"NTT is the embodiment and character of the archipelago, namely maritime character. The character of this maritime civilization will become our strength capital in welcoming world civilization," said Gus Yahya.

Gus Yahya explained that the first place is Palikpapan, East Kalimantan which in the future will become the State Capital. Then the series of medua is NTT which is the spirit of diversity and represents the maritime character. The third is the implementation of Palembang as the place of the oldest civilization in the archipelago. And finally in Bangkalan, Madura, East Java, to take spiritual energy from Shaykh Kholil Bangkalan.

"These four places represent NU to move on to build civilization. In East Kalimantan, we know that the President wants to build a new capital city in East Kalimantan. With the name Nusantara City, this is an iconic idea that shows a vision of building the future. So it is important that NU is present to build with the spirit of building future," he explained.

In a series of events in Labuan Bajo, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan was present virtually. Those who attended directly included the Governor of NTT Victor B Laiskodat, the Director General of Capture Fisheries of the KKP, as well as the ranks of PBNU, PWNU NTT, and PCNU throughout NTT.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the Committee who is also the Chair of PBNU, H. Nasyirul Falah Amru said, the enthusiasm in singing Syubbanul Wathon's songs showed a commitment to work with NU to maintain the middle way, tolerance, diversity in the life of the nation and state as the values carried out by NU. NU teaches to act tolerantly towards fellow human beings. Indonesia consists of various religions and ethnicities, with this diversity must be maintained.

"The people of this nation must also imitate the attitude of the national leaders who, even though they have different beliefs, can still be friends. We express our gratitude to the Catholic youths in Labuan Bajo who joined in singing the Syubbanul Wathon song at the 96th NU Harlah event in Labuan Bajo, "said the young NU figure who is usually called Gus Falah.
