JAKARTA - The brawl between two groups of students has gone viral on Instagram again on Jalan Kampung Melayu Besar, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta on Wednesday, February 2, evening. The two groups of students came from opposite directions and positioned themselves like soldiers of war gladiators.

Based on the video, teenagers holding sharp weapons and blunt objects are at the forefront of each group. They make an attempt to attack by swinging sharp weapons at the opponent. The distance between the two groups was very close, and they swung their sickles at each other.

The brawl continued until both of them carried out a forward attack pattern to attack the opponent and back then forward to attack again. There were even teenagers who were seen falling while trying to run back to save themselves.

The brawl was fierce. The reason is that there are no police officers on guard at the location of this brawl-prone area. Even the brawl broke up by itself without any police officers.

The students involved in this attack did not hesitate to use sharp weapons at vulnerable groups. Unfortunately, this brawl took place in the middle of a public road that was accessed by passing motorists.

The two groups of teenagers held a brawl by closing the road. Passing motorists were forced to stop the vehicle for fear of being the target of a stabbing.

According to Egi Manton, an eye witness to the incident, a brawl occurred near the Kampung Melayu Terminal.

"There were 50 people who were fighting. They were carrying sharp weapons, sickles and metal plates," he said at the scene, Wednesday, February 2, evening.

The cause of the brawl between the two groups of students is not yet known.

"It seems that a victim was stabbed and hit by an iron throw. The brawl occurred for 30 minutes," said Egi.

The case of a brawl between the two groups of teenagers is still being investigated and handled by the Jatinegara Police.

A brawl also occurred on Jalan Malaka, precisely at the Malacca Bridge, Ciracas District, East Jakarta. The cause of the brawl was suspected to be mutual ridicule between the two groups. The perpetrators were armed with sharp weapons when carrying out the attack.

Ciracas Police Chief Kompol Jupriono said his party was conducting an investigation to ensure that the two groups of teenagers were not citizens of Ciracas. According to him, the perpetrators involved were outsiders who carried out brawls in the Ciracas area.

"After we carried out an investigation, the children who were in the brawl were not from the Cibubur or Kelapa Dua Wetan neighborhoods who belonged to the Ciracas Police Sector. They were children from outside the Ciracas sub-district," said Ciracas Police Chief Kompol Jupriono to reporters, Thursday, February 3. Recurring incidents and preventing fatalities due to brawls, the Ciracas Police are planning to increase security at a number of brawl-prone points.

"We continue to carry out prevention efforts by guarding at brawl-prone hours. We have mapped (mapped) areas prone to brawls, members will be on standby in the area," he said.

The police chief also asked all parents with teenage children to carry out close supervision when it was late at night. This is to avoid unwanted things from being disturbed by Kamtibmas.

"We urge all citizens of Ciracas, parents who have teenage sons and daughters, to be monitored at midnight. Check their whereabouts and are advised to go home immediately to avoid any unwanted incidents, we are all guarding," said Kompol Jupriono.
