Returning From The Holy Land, 30 North Paser Sharpener Residents Positively COVID-19

KALTIM - As many as 30 residents of North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, are quarantined at Wisma Atlet Jakarta after being confirmed positive for COVID-19 from the results of a swab test. This East Kalimantan resident is known to have just performed Umrah in the Holy Land of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The swab test was carried out upon arrival at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Head of the North Penajam Paser District Health Office, Jense Grace Makisurat, said 30 people who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 were immediately quarantined at the Jakarta Athlete's Wisma.

The group of Umrah pilgrims from North Penajam Paser Regency will be allowed to return home after being declared cured.

"The Umrah pilgrims who are positive for COVID-19 will be sent home after undergoing a health check at the Wisma Atlet," he said. "When he returned to North Penajam Paser Regency, he was not examined again because he was quarantined at the Wisma Atlet," added Grace Makisurat at Penajam, Antara, Wednesday, February 2.

With 30 Umrah pilgrims exposed to COVID-19, the list of cases of corona virus infection in North Penajam Paser Regency experienced a significant spike.

The Umrah pilgrims who were confirmed to be exposed to the corona virus, he said, were a group of Assistant I for Government and People's Welfare at the North Penajam Paser Regency Secretariat.

"Assistant I was also isolated at Wisma Atlet Jakarta because it was also confirmed that he was exposed to COVID-19 from the results of the swab test," he said.

Residents who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 in North Penajam Paser Regency, according to him, are undergoing independent isolation in their respective homes.
