JAKARTA - Electric short circuit is again a source of disaster. As a result of this short circuit, as many as 10 housing units in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, Jambi Province on Monday, January 31, afternoon were engulfed in "the red rooster".

"We received a call from the public at 15.30 WIB informing us that a fire had occurred on Jalan Bahagia Ahmad Yani, Tungkal IV Urban Village," said Head of the West Tanjab Regency Fire Department Iswardi in West Tanjab, Monday.

Because the housing material in the area is made of wood and boards and the location of the adjacent houses caused the fire to quickly spread to other houses.

To stop the fire, the regional fire department dispatched six fire engines. With the help of the community around the TNI and Polri, the fire was extinguished for approximately two hours.

"We cannot estimate the loss and it is suspected that the fire was caused by an electric short circuit," said Iswardi.

According to a local resident, Sudirman, the burned house was also used as a place of business, including a restaurant, a place to sell chicken porridge, a place to sell used goods such as refrigerators, TVs and other household necessities.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Tanjung Jabung Barat, Anwar Sadat, asked the public to increase their vigilance. The public is asked to ensure the condition of the house is safe when left. Such as making sure the stove is turned off and making sure the electricity network is safe.
