Man Stabber In Taman Palem Arrested While Changing Car Number Plates

JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit managed to arrest the stabbing perpetrator with the initials TS (55) in the Pondok Aren area, South Tangerang, Banten.

The perpetrator TS was arrested by the Jatanras team at his hiding place when he was changing his car's license plate on Saturday, January 29, night

TS was arrested because he was proven to have stabbed M (51) until the victim died on Taman Palem Lestari Street, RT 05/016, Tegal Alur Village, Kalideres District, West Jakarta on Friday, January 28, last night. TS's arrest was based on witness testimony and CCTV at the location around the incident.

"It's true that we arrested the perpetrator while he was changing his car's license plate number," said Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation at the West Jakarta Metro Police Commissioner Niko Purba when confirmed by VOI, Sunday, January 30.

After being secured, the police immediately asked the perpetrator to show evidence of a sharp weapon, a type of machete. It turned out that the evidence was stored in the perpetrator's yard and the victim's blood was still there.

However, Commissioner Niko has not been able to explain in detail the chronology and motive of the perpetrator stabbing the victim. Because it is still working intensively examine the perpetrators of the stabbing.

"Later we will convey more, yes, investigators are still exploring the perpetrator's information," he said.

Meanwhile, from the results of the crime scene, there were some clues that were found by his side.

"We found statements from several witnesses, before the incident there was a verbal altercation between the victim and the perpetrator," said Commissioner Niko.

From the verbal altercation, he continued, the perpetrator returned home and then took a sharp machete-type weapon. Then the two of them got into another verbal altercation, until finally, the half-drunk perpetrator stabbed the victim in the left chest.

From the testimony of eyewitnesses at the scene, the victim was a member of a Mass Organization. This victim, he continued, often asks for security money from street vendors who sell there.

"Perhaps this perpetrator is annoyed at times, because his brother trades there, he says, likes to be asked for money," he said.

After the victim died and the police received a report of the incident, the perpetrator was immediately pursued by West Jakarta Metro Police and Kalideres Police.

"So after this, we will immediately hunt down the perpetrators," he said.
