PANGKALPINANG - The price of chicken meat in the traditional markets of the Bangka Belitung Islands rose sharply. Even the price of 1 kg of chicken meat reaches Rp. 50 thousand. Of course this burdens the community.

The Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands, Erzaldi Rosman Djohan, asked the Food Task Force Integrated Team (TPSP) to immediately make efforts and find solutions to reduce the price of chicken meat in traditional markets.

"I ask this team to immediately handle and find a solution so that the price of chicken becomes stable at Rp. 30,000 per kilogram," said Erzaldi Rosman Djohan in Pangkalpinang, as reported by Antara, Saturday, January 29.

He emphasized that the Babel Food Task Force Integrated Team must immediately trace the prices set by the company from upstream to downstream, so that they naturally take advantage.

In addition, if it is proven that the alleged monopolistic practice by a chicken company is detrimental and burdens the community's economy in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, it will report it to the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU), he said.

According to him, so far the supply chain for chicken meat distribution is from the company to distributors or brokers, then to traders or retailers and to consumers.

"If we need to cut the distribution chain, why can't traders buy from the company? I don't want any games, so that people get a fair price," he said. to normal prices, up to IDR 40,000 to 50,000 per kilogram.

According to the report, the reason for the increase in chicken prices was the increase in the price of chicken feed and medicines, as well as the slow delivery at the DOC (Day Old Chicken) port or broiler chicken seeds from producers, which caused many DOCs to die, resulting in feed quality. not maximal.

Responding to the DOC problem, his party immediately coordinated with the port authority to fix it.

"I hope that the Babel Food Task Force Integrated Team in the near future will determine the Highest Retail Price (HET) for chicken pieces, taking into account the distribution price from the producer to the trader level, and data on the amount of chicken meat needed with data on the number of meat suppliers in this area. ," he said.
