Jakpro Will Use Corporate Funds To Cover Formula E, PDIP: I Suspect It's CSR Funds

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) plans to use corporate funds to cover the costs of constructing the Formula E circuit, which until now has not received confirmation of a sponsor.

Gilbert Simanjuntak, a member of the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD, is suspicious. To his knowledge, Jakpro is currently on the verge of collapse due to reduced income during the pandemic.

Gilbert suspects that the Rp50 billion corporate fund that Jakpro will use to finance the construction of the Formula E track is corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds to local governments.

"I suspect that they are using CSR funds that have been received by the provincial government. CSR is not a regional budget," Gilbert told VOI, Friday, January 28.

Why could Gilbert suspect this? This is because the DPRD does not know the fate of the use of CSR funds received while DKI Governor Anies Baswedan was in office.

This is different from the use of CSR when Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok was still the Governor of DKI. At that time, Ahok used CSR funds to build infrastructure such as the Semanggi Bridge to flats.

"In Ahok's time, CSR was used to build the Semanggi Bridge, flats. Why do we suspect that Formula E uses CSR? Because now the money for CSR is not clear where," said Gilbert.

It is known that Jakpro has used its company's corporate funds of Rp. 70 billion to organize Formula E. These funds have been used since 2019 to pay for the procurement of track materials.

In fact, Jakpro plans to return to using corporate funds of Rp50 billion when sponsorship money has not yet arrived when they have to build a Formula E circuit.
