Pangdam Jaya Adds Tower Capacity At RSDC Wisma Atlet Pademangan Anticipates COVID-19 Spike

JAKARTA - The Commander of the Jaya Regional Military Command Major General Untung Budiharto said that his party would prepare several towers at the COVID-19 Emergency Hospital (RSDC) Wisma Atlet Pademangan to anticipate the rise in cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

"To anticipate the possibility of an increase in Omicron in Jakarta, we have prepared several towers," said Untung at Halim Perdanakusuma, East Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Friday, January 28.

As of Thursday, January 27, there were 2,404 Omicron cases in the DKI Jakarta area.

The Commander of the Integrated Joint Task Force Command (Pangkogasgabpad) of the Jakarta COVID-19 Task Force said the Pademangan Athlete House would be prepared for the isolation of COVID-19 patients and others.

In addition to increasing the tower capacity, said Untung, his party will also add health workers.

"We have prepared everything. We have prepared the completeness of each task force, including health, security and guard personnel," said Untung.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 Task Force said DKI Jakarta, West Java and Banten contributed 90.4 percent of the addition of positive cases in the past week.

"DKI Jakarta, West Java and Banten contributed 13,316 cases out of a total of 14,729 cases last week or 90.4 percent," said the National Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Wiku Adisasmito, Thursday, January 27.

According to him, regional governments or task forces in the three provinces need to implement mitigation strategies to suppress the higher rate of cases.

"Please immediately evaluate and re-enforce the implementation of health protocols in the office sector, public facilities, and public transportation," he said.
