PT TWC Reveals Revitalization Aims To Restore TMII's Marwah

JAKARTA - PT. Borobudur Temple Prambanan Ratu Boko Tourism Park (Persero) or TWC as a member of the Tourism BUMN Holding revealed that the revitalization of the Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park (TMII) aims to restore the dignity of the tourism destination.

President Director of PT TWC Edy Setijono said the revitalization of TMII was carried out to support the implementation of the 2022 G20 Presidency. In addition, this revitalization serves to restore TMII's dignity as before.

"This renovation is carried out to restore dignity as before. Like the proportion of green open space with buildings that used to be 70 to 30 percent, now it's the opposite. In addition, we plan destination activities in collaboration with various related parties," Edy said in a written statement quoted Between, Friday, January 28th.

The renovation of TMII has received a special assignment from President Joko Widodo through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 116 of 2021 concerning the acceleration of infrastructure development implementation to support the organization of international events in Bali, DKI Jakarta, NTB, and NTT.

Previously, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said the total budget prepared for the renovation of TMII reached around Rp1.13 trillion for 2022.

Basuki explained that the Rp1.13 trillion renovation of TMII will be carried out, among others, in the form of road handling in the TMII area, arrangement of the main gate area, renovation of Joglo (Sasono Utomo, Sasono Langen Budoyo, and Sasono Adiguno).

Then, for the renovation of the museum, the arrangement of the landscape of the islands in Archipelago Lake, the renovation of the Garuda Theater museum, the Telkom and Keong Mas Museum, the parking structure (elevated), and the revitalization of Archipelago Lake.

Meanwhile, Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno said TMII is expected to be an inclusive destination and can be reached by all Indonesian people.

"The beauty of the landscape and the attraction of destinations in TMII because of this revitalization, hopefully it can still be enjoyed by all levels of society. We want TMII to be an inclusive destination," said Pratikno.
