The Price Of Cooking Oil In The Bengkulu Traditional Market Is Not Stable, Premium Brands Sold For IDR 19,000/Liter

BENGKULU - The selling price of simple and premium packaged cooking oil in the traditional markets of Bengkulu City is still not stable. The selling price of several types of premium brand packaged oil is sold at around Rp. 18,000 to Rp. 19,000 thousand per liter.

"There are also traders who sell simple packaged cooking oil and certain brands at a price of Rp. 14,000 thousand per liter," said Roy, a trader at a modern traditional market in Bengkulu, as quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 27.

Cooking oil prices are still not uniform because several cooking oil agents and distributors have issued circulars regarding the determination of the selling price of cooking oil. In addition, there were distributors who recalled their goods and returned the difference in the capital of traders who had bought at high prices.

"There are already some types of oil that are sold at a price of Rp. 14 thousand per liter and some are sold at a price of Rp. 18 thousand per liter," said Roy.

With the decline in the price of certain brands of cooking oil in traditional markets, it is a positive thing for traders because the stock of cooking oil in stores is sold out.

Even the stock of packaged cooking oil, which is sold at a price of Rp. 14 thousand per liter, is depleted, while the stock from distributors does not know when it will arrive.

"When asked to the distributor, it turned out that the goods were no longer available in the warehouse," he said

The same thing was conveyed by Murlis, if the current stock of cooking oil at a price of Rp. 14 thousand per liter in his shop has run out.

"The selling price of cooking oil, according to the government's recommendation, has been implemented in Traditional Markets since three days ago and the stock is running out," he explained.

Murlis hopes that the supply of cooking oil to traders will be stable as before and that cooking oil sales will return to normal before the price of cooking oil rises.

Previously, the government had given time to traders in traditional markets to adjust the price set by the government, which was Rp. 14 thousand per liter for all types of cooking oil, including premium packaging.
