JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) launched two new applications, Mobile Passport (M-Passport) and Online Prevent and Deterrent Application (Cekal) on the 72nd Commemoration of Immigration Service Day, Thursday, January 27.
This launch is in line with the government's commitment to aggressively accelerate digital transformation in various fields.
The Mobile Passport (M-Parpor) application debuted with trials at three Immigration Offices, namely the Central Jakarta Immigration Office, South Jakarta Immigration Office, and Tangerang Immigration Office. Right at the peak of the 72nd HBI, M-Passport officially replaces its predecessor, the Online Passport Queue Registration Application (APAPO).
Through M-Passport, applicants can apply for a passport by uploading a scanned file to the application. Thus, it is sufficient for the applicant to show the original documents during an interview at the Immigration Office, thereby reducing face-to-face time. M-Passport excellent features include Payment of PNBP in Advance, Check Status of Passport Application, Validation of Dukcapil NIK, Reschedule Arrival Schedule and Integration of Indonesian Travel Documents.
Meanwhile, Cekal Online was launched to strengthen supervision and law enforcement. Cekal Online will be integrated with other immigration service platforms to make it easier for law enforcement officers to identify subjects subject to prevention or deterrence.
Menkumham Yasonna H. Laoly in his mandate as Inspector of Ceremonies reminded Immigration personnel again to maintain integrity and public trust in carrying out their functions as gatekeepers of the state.
"Don't let any immigration officer make a mistake and be careless in carrying out immigration surveillance. Such actions cannot be tolerated because they will reduce public trust,” said Yasonna in an electronic message received, Jakarta, Thursday, January 27.
Yasonna emphasizes putting forward the PASTI values at work. All levels of Immigration, said Yasonna, must be disciplined and adhere to principles, eager to serve the community better, selflessly, and optimally.
“The age of 72 reflects the level of maturity both in the organization and in terms of performance. At this age we can no longer make mistakes in making policies and decisions, we must carry out all Immigration duties and functions with more certainty (Professional, Accountable, Synergic, Transparent and Innovative)," said Yasonna.
"As ASN, Immigration officials must remember their position as public servants. Don't be exclusive, don't ask to be served, and get used to living a simple life," continued the Minister of Law and Human Rights.
