INDRAMAYU - The Indramayu Resort Police (Polres), West Java, dismantled a network of stolen motorcycle collectors by securing six suspects with different roles.

"We have arrested six people, they are a network of stolen motorbikes," said Indramayu Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Lukman Syarif in Indramayu, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, January 26.

Lukman said the six suspects arrested were a network of stolen motorbikes that had been operating since 2018.

According to him, the six suspects who were arrested each had the initials KDR (47), AR (21), MSK (46), MSL (58), DY (33), and JA (20). They are residents of Indramayu, Cirebon, and Jakarta.

The network of collectors, said Lukman, has their respective roles, such as KDR (47) residents of Karangampel, Indramayu Regency, in charge of changing the frame number and engine number of the motorcycle to match the STNK that has been provided.

"MSK and MSL are in charge of providing STNK which will be matched with stolen motorcycles," he said.

Meanwhile, two other suspects, namely JA and TSN, are in charge of selling motorcycles whose frame numbers and engine numbers have been changed according to the STNK, while AR is in charge of repairing motorbike ignition keys so that the stolen motorbike is not known.

"With the STNK, the stolen motorbikes sold by the traffickers have a higher price," said Lukman.

As a result of his actions, the six suspects in the motorcycle ring were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code, 481 of the Criminal Code, 480 of the Criminal Code, and Article 263 of the Criminal Code with the threat of imprisonment for a maximum of seven years.
