The caretaker of the Bustanul Ulum Islamic Islamic Boarding School (IBU) M. Hafidi Cholis, said that the flood occurred after several hours of heavy rain, which forced 364 female students out of a total of 486 students to be evacuated to a safe place.

According to him, the flood had caused inundation as high as 150 cm in the women's boarding school complex so that the students had to be evacuated.

"Alhamdulillah, in the midst of heavy rain, the evacuation went safely, but there were 13 students who were scared, cold, and convulsing. He said that all the students could be evacuated safely, but that many school equipment and furniture belonging to the students were washed away during the flood.

"All students also receive a health check from the Pakusari Health Center which is followed by giving vitamins after the students sunbathe and have breakfast," he said, adding that the IBU Islamic Boarding School complex was indeed often flooded. and irrigation canals overflowed and flooded residential areas in Pakusari and Mayang sub-districts.

"The floods hit two sub-districts, namely Pakusari and Mayang sub-districts with a total of 32 houses with 96 people, then the IBU Islamic Boarding School with 360 students," he said.

He added that residents and village government officials have been working to clean up the rest of the flood in Krajan Hamlet, Mayang Village, Mayang District.
