SORONG - West Papua Police Chief Inspector General Tornagogo Sihombing, inspects the Doubel O karaoke location which was set on fire by the masses due to a clash between two groups of residents in Sorong.

After reviewing the location of the Doubel O karaoke incident, the Kapolda went straight to the Sale be Solu Hospital in Sorong to see the identification process for the 17 victims who were trapped in the karaoke during the fight.

Inspector General Tornagogo said the police had coordinated with the DVI Team of the Indonesian Police Health Center to come to Sorong to examine and identify the bodies of the victims.

According to him, the identification team of the West Papua Regional Police does not yet know the identities of the victims who were burned in the clashes between residents in Sorong.

However, there were 18 victims in this fateful incident. One victim clashed and 17 were burnt as a result of being trapped in a Double O karaoke set by the rioting crowd.

At this time, the identity of the victim who was burned in the Double O karaoke place has not been identified because the condition of the charred body cannot be identified.

"I have mobilized my members from Inafis to immediately conduct a crime scene investigation for further legal proceedings," said the West Papua Police Chief, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 25.

It is known that 17 victims were burned in the Double O karaoke, three of them were guests and the rest were employees.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the West Papua Police, Kombes Adam Erwindi, appealed to the warring communities in Sorong to remain restrained and not to believe in the hoax news circulating.

"Trust this to the police, we will continue to identify the victims to find out their identities," he said.

He also advised people who felt that their families had not returned from the Double O karaoke so far to contact the service contact 110 for the Sorong City Police.
