To Prevent Panic Buying, Anies Baswedan's Office Asks The Government To Ensure The Distribution Of Cooking Oil

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) coordinates with the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia to maintain the stability of the distribution of cooking oil to the DKI area so that "panic buying" does not occur.

"Thus the certainty of one price can go well. We hope that the scarcity of cooking oil and 'panic buying' can be avoided," said Head of the DKI Jakarta PPKUKM Service, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, in a written statement, in Jakarta, Tuesday, January 25, as reported by Antara.

His party continues to monitor the market and coordinate with the Directorate General of Domestic Trade and the Directorate of Basic and Important Goods of the Ministry of Trade, to ensure the availability of cooking oil on the market.

"Monitoring and supervision in the field is carried out by the PPKUKM Service, so that policies from the Central Government can run well," he said.

According to Ratu, the PPKUKM Service and the Ministry of Trade have also carried out Cooking Oil Market Operations on January 14-19 2022 in five administrative city areas in Jakarta.

Then, when conducting monitoring and supervision in the field, the PPKUKM Service also appealed to modern retail players who have cooking oil stocks to apply a limit on the sale of cooking oil to a maximum of two liters per person.

"We realize that there are still obstacles that are faced and cannot be said to be running as expected," he said.

Ratu said the central government's policy would be implemented over the next six months, and the PPKUKM Service would continue to coordinate with the Directorate General of Domestic Trade and the Directorate of Basic and Important Goods of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade so that it is hoped that the stock of cooking oil on the market can be fulfilled.

"The price of cooking oil can also reach the figure set by the Central Government," he said.
