Regarding Defense And Security At IKN Nusantara, TNI Commander Awaiting Direction And Budget

JAKARTA - The TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa is waiting for directions to maximize protection or defense in the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago. According to him, this matter has not been discussed in a working meeting with the DPR.

"But the important thing is that we wait for the budget. As for the design and all kinds of things, it will also be directed to us," said Andika Perkasa at the DPR building, Monday, January 24.

Andika said the TNI unit would prepare an adequate strategy. But again, he said, they are still waiting for the government's decision regarding the needs of the TNI's defense there.

"If it is a decision, we will definitely try to describe and maximize what can be done to ensure that the new capital city also has an adequate security system," said Andika Perkasa.

The TNI commander said that until now his party had not received a request for assistance related to defense and security in the new capital.

"So far, I haven't been able to accept, for example, requests for assistance, but if there is one, we will definitely try to support it as much as possible. So far there has been none," he explained.

Meanwhile, regarding the projection of the new IKN, the TNI Commander said it was the authority of the central government.

"In terms of who is the architect and so on, it will be handled directly by the central committee. So we didn't discuss that specifically," continued Andika Perkasa.
