Johan Budi In Front Of The National Police Chief: If There Are Naughty Cops, Don't Just Transfer Them, Take Them To The Crime Scene

JAKARTA - Almost all members of Commission III who took part in the working meeting with the National Police praised the changes that have taken place under the command of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. However, there is a suggestion from Commission III member Johan Budi which the National Police Chief Sigit might also consider.

In front of the National Police Chief, Johan Budi indeed praised the reward and punishment system that was applied evenly. However, Johan Budi asked that naughty police officers should not only be punished with transfers.

Johan Budi explicitly asked the police who were naughty not only to be removed. But if 'misbehavior' is in the criminal realm, Johan Budi suggested that it should also be brought to the realm of law.

"If there is a police chief, the naughty police chief should not be transferred but brought to the criminal realm, because it is a criminal offense and needs to be arrested," said Johan at the DPR Building, Monday, January 24.

Previously, the National Police Chief admitted that he was indeed looking for an inspiring police figure today. Sigit said, the search will be carried out in the 2022 Hoegeng Award series 'Looking for a New Hoegeng'.

"This activity is expected to spur the enthusiasm of members in the field to always do good and carry out their service duties sincerely and seriously," he said.

The former Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has prepared prizes for Polri personnel who have done well. Meanwhile, personnel who violate will still be punished strictly according to the rules.

"Members who have done service beyond their call of duty sincerely will certainly be given rewards. We hope that the number of rewards in 2022 will increase," he said.

"Of course, this reward is done using measurable indicators in accordance with the proportion of their respective duties so that they can motivate members to continue to excel and do good," he continued.

According to Sigit, this effort was made to respond quickly and well to all public criticism. So, the police institution can be even better.
