Cooking Oil Monitoring, Police State Availability In 12 Safe Areas, Free Of Hoarding Practices

JAKARTA - The National Police stated that they have monitored the availability of cooking oil in all parts of Indonesia. Provisional results, availability in 12 areas is declared safe.

"Based on the results of checking cooking oil and sugar in the Jabodetabek, Serang and surrounding areas, West Java, Central Java, East Java, DIY, Aceh, Babylon, South Sumatra, Central Kalimantan, Bali and North Sulawesi, it was found that the stock availability is safe," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General. Ahmad Ramadhan told reporters, Monday, January 24.

Ramadhan also stated that the Highest Retail Price (HET) had followed government regulations. Where, for oil at Rp. 14 thousand.

"Prices follow the highest retail prices in accordance with government directives, namely packaged cooking oil at Rp. 14,000 per liter, granulated sugar at Rp. 12,500 per kilogram," he said.

Apart from that, Ramadhan also stated that there were no hoarding and chartering that could affect the availability of cooking oil. In the end, prices skyrocketed.

"There was no wholesale action and queuing for the purchase of packaged cooking oil and granulated sugar," said Ramadhan.

However, if later during monitoring it is found that there is a hijacking and hoarding, the Police will take action. Because it is a violation of the rules.

"Do an investigation if it is found wholesale action and hoarding of cooking oil," said Ramadhan.
