JAKARTA - Freddy Y Patty, the attorney for the family of HM (89), the grandfather who died after being beaten by a mob for allegedly stealing a car, on Jalan Pulo Kambing Raya, Pulogadung Industrial Estate, East Jakarta, urged the police to reveal the motive for the beating that killed HM.

"Because there is a family idea that this is not an ordinary beating, but we suspect that this was a premeditated murder. Someone ordered this incident," said Freddy when contacted by VOI, Monday, January 24, afternoon.

However, his party also appreciates the legal process of the East Jakarta Metro Police who immediately acted quickly in handling the case of beating the victim of HM.

"The family would like to thank the East Jakarta Police Chief because the incident was immediately processed. Today, we have entered the investigation stage, we get information from the police," he said.

The family has officially reported the case of beating HM to the East Jakarta Metro Police on Sunday, January 23, yesterday.

"Yesterday we (made) a report on Article 170 of the Criminal Code of beating people and goods on Sunday, January 23. The report was made by the victim's child. We urge the police to solve this case," said Freddy.

Freddy said, today (Monday 24 January), the Police have entered the stage of the investigation process and several people have been questioned since yesterday.

"We hope the police can uncover this," he said.

As is known, HM was beaten to death by a mob on Jalan Pulo Kambing Raya, Pulogadung Industrial Estate, Sunday at around 02.00 WIB. The driver of the car was shouted at by the thief and chased by the mob until he was beaten to death.

Head of the East Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit AKBP Ahsanul Muqaffi said the provocateur of the persecution was not the driver whose motorcycle was hit. He said his staff was still hunting for the provocateur. The investigation was carried out shortly after there was a report from the victim's family.
