Jokowi Leaks Criteria For Candidate Head Of IKN Authority, Risma: Many Regional Heads Are Architects

JAKARTA - The name of the candidate for the Head of the State Capital Authority (IKN) to be appointed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) continues to be awaited by the public. Moreover, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta has given a leak that the chosen candidate is a candidate with an architect background and has been a regional head.

Responding to this, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini said that many regional heads have architectural backgrounds, not only him. However, he did not want to comment further on this matter.

"Many, many regional heads are (background, ed) architects. It's not just me. So I can't talk about me," Risma said in a written statement, Sunday, January 23.

For information, President Joko Widodo or Jokowi leaked the criteria for the candidate for the Head of the National Capital Authority (IKN) of the Archipelago. "I want people who have an architectural background and have led the region. But that's my wish," he said at the time.

Returning to Risma, he did not want to assume that he would later be appointed as the Head of the IKN Authority. In addition, the former Surabaya mayor will of course follow orders from the General Chairperson of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"Mother knows me. I have to report to my mother, because you know who I am, whether I am right there or not," said Risma.

"(So, red) it's not about being ready. My people don't know why," added the PDIP DPP chairman.

Previously reported, President Jokowi had actually leaked the names of four candidates for the Head of the IKN Authority in 2020. First, Bambang Brodjonegoro has served as Minister of Research and Technology.

He was listed as the person who participated in planning the relocation of the new capital city when he served as Head of the National Planning and Development Agency.

Second, is Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok. It is common knowledge that the closeness between him and Jokowi was built when they led the capital city of DKI Jakarta together. Ahok now sits as President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero).

The third name is Tumiyono. Currently he serves as the President Director of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. This state-owned construction company has a number of projects in the construction of the nation's capital or a new capital city.

The last name that Jokowi mentioned has the potential to occupy the Head of the State Capital Authority is PDIP politician Abdullah Azwar Anas. The former Banyuwangi Regent is now the Head of the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP).
