KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob visited former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad, who is undergoing heart treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN) Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur, Saturday 22 January.

The UMNO vice -president revealed his visit through a tweet on his Twitter account and Facebook status. "I just arrived at the National Heart Institute to visit former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad @chedetofficial who was admitted to IJN," he said as reported by Antara.

Ismail said he met Mahathir's wife, Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, at IJN. He hopes Mahathir Mohamad's family will continue to be patient.

Meanwhile, Mahathir's daughter, Marina Mahathir, in her statement said that since two days ago her father had been treated at the National Heart Institute (IJN) to undergo advanced elective surgery. The operation was previously successfully carried out on January 8, 2022.

"His condition is now stable and he has responded well to the treatment. Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali and his family requested that the people pray for his full recovery soon," he said.
