Residents Don't Panic, Cooking Oil Prices At Cianjur Retail Stores Are Guaranteed To Be Rp. 14,000

CIANJUR - The Department of Cooperatives, SME, Trade and Industry (Diskoperindagin) in Cianjur, West Java, confirmed that modern retail stores in Cianjur have set a price for selling cooking oil of Rp. 14,000 per liter of various brands.

Secretary Diskoperindagin Cianjur Wahyu Ginanjar said, the certainty was based on the results of checks carried out as of January 19, 2022.

"Most of the retail stores we visited have applied a price for cooking oil in 1 liter packages of Rp. 14,000 and for two liters of Rp. 28,000," he said in Cianjur as reported by Antara, Friday, January 21.

He appealed to residents not to panic over the high price of cooking oil, from Rp. 18,000 to Rp. 23,000 per liter.

Previously, the Cianjur Department of Trade and Industry, Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperatives (Dikoperindagin) held a market operation to stabilize the price of bulk cooking oil, which is currently still high at IDR 23,000 per kilogram and a number of other basic needs.

The head of Cianjur's Dikoperindagin, Tohari Sastra, said the price of bulk cooking oil was high, compared to a few weeks before the beginning of the year because it was sold at a price above the normal price of Rp. 12,000 per kilogram.

"We haven't found out what causes bulk oil prices to remain at that figure, but as a solution, we will conduct market operations so that prices return to normal, including egg prices, although they have decreased, they are only a few thousand rupiahs," he said.
