JAKARTA - The Lampung Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag) said that all traditional markets in the area will align cooking oil prices next week.

"The implementation of lower cooking oil prices in traditional markets will be tolerated until next week," said Head of the Industry and Trade Office of Lampung Province, Elvira Umihanni, in Bandarlampung, Friday, January 21.

He said the adjustment of cooking oil prices in traditional markets was carried out after the one-price cooking oil policy by the Ministry of Trade.

"For retail, it has been down since yesterday, but for traditional markets we give time for distributors to convey to retailers until next week," he said as quoted by Antara.

According to him, to ensure the implementation of the one-price cooking oil policy, his party will monitor prices directly to traditional markets.

"Next week we will go to the field with the Food Task Force to ensure that all traders receive information on the one-price cooking oil policy," he said.

He explained that when the socialization process for the one-price cooking oil policy was over, and there were still traders who did not heed it, they would immediately report it to the central government.

"If we reach the tolerance limit for policy socialization, there are still prices that have not come down, of course we will report them to the center," he said.

He continued, if the one-price policy can be implemented properly, there will be no market operations to stabilize prices.

"If conditions are conducive after the one-price policy, market operations will not continue, but if the situation is otherwise, then market operations can be continued," he said.

Based on observations at a number of modern retailers in Bandarlampung City, the price of packaged cooking oil per liter has begun to fall from the previous price of Rp. 19,250 per liter and Rp. 38,500 per two liters, now it has become Rp. 14,000 per liter and Rp. 28,000 per two liters.
