JAKARTA - The Judicial Commission (KY) revealed that there were approximately 150 complaints related to alleged violations of judge ethics in East Java.

This data was submitted after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named the inactive Surabaya District Court Judge Itong Isnaeni Hidayat as a suspect in the alleged bribery case handling.

"There are approximately 150 reports of ethical violations in East Java," said Commissioner for Supervision of Judge Behavior and Investigation KY Joko Sasmito as quoted from KPK's YouTube, Friday, January 21.

With the number of complaints, Joko said East Java was in the second position as the province with the most complaints of alleged violations of judge ethics. While sitting in the first position is DKI Jakarta and then in the third position is occupied by North Sumatra.

"Indeed, East Java is included in the big two, yes, public complaints reports," he said.

Furthermore, he explained that his institution had received 2,645 complaints of alleged violations of the ethics of judges in the country every 2021. These reports were submitted directly or through copies.

"If we read the data in 2021, there are 2,645 reports that go to the Judicial Commission and 1,473 reports that go directly to the Judicial Commission, while there are 992 copies of which are reported," said Joko. at the Surabaya District Court. This determination was preceded by a hand arrest operation (OTT) which was held on Wednesday, January 19.

In addition to Itong, the anti-corruption commission also appointed a substitute clerk, Hamdan and lawyers and representatives of PT SGP. During the silent operation, the KPK found and confiscated Rp140 million in cash.

Hamdan received the money from Hendro in the parking lot of the Surabaya District Court Building. It is suspected that the money is a sign that it is related to the management of the case so that Itong decides according to Itong's wishes.

For their actions, Itong and Hamdan are suspected of violating Article 12 letter c or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication Corruption Crime Jo Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, Hendro is suspected of violating Article 6 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 13 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication Corruption Crimes Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.
