Police Raid Houses Supplying Sharp Weapons Among Tangerang Students

TANGERANG - The police have the identity of the maker of sharp weapons (sajam) who supplied a number of students in Tangerang Regency to do brawls.

The Head of Jatiuwung Police, Kompol Zazali Hariyono, said the perpetrators were domiciled in the Curug area, Tangerang Regency.

"Already (with the identity of the perpetrator), the perpetrator (lives) in Curug, Tangerang Regency," said Zazali when contacted, Thursday, January 20.

Zazali admitted that his party had conducted a search at the location where the knife was made. However, the perpetrator was not at the location.

"The perpetrator was not at the place, what was secured at the place was only evidence of its manufacture," said Zazali.

Previously, it was reported that the Tangerang Metro Police Chief, Kombes Komarudin, had asked his members to hunt down the makers of sharp weapons that sell specifically to students in Tangerang.

"We see the current phenomenon that many of the shawls used by students are like home products, such as artificial ones. Indeed, we often find it in such a way, resembling a knife and its shape is sharp, deadly," he said.
