JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan quipped a party that some time ago visited the location of the Formula E circuit in Ancol and criticized that the area was not feasible.

One of the parties who recently visited the location of the Formula E circuit was PSI General Chair Giring Ganesha. From that review, Giring doubts that the construction of the circuit can be of high quality.

Anies explained that currently the circuit has not been built. The DKI Provincial Government still has a few months before the implementation in June 2022. So, Anies wonders why there are parties who bother to review the location.

"It's a pity that the time is really loose. So, if we, who are a bit busy, don't have enough time to go around, there's no need," said Anies as quoted from the Total Politics YouTube show entitled "Anies Baswedan Answers the Question of Formula E", Thursday, 20 January.

Anies considers that it is not time for other parties to speculate, because the Formula E event is still in progress. He asked the public to wait for him to prove that Formula E can be held properly.

"That's why I am often like this, for things that need proof we will see later. That's why later the strongest evidence for what we plan to do," he said.

As previously reported, Giring Ganesha inspected the location of the prospective Formula E circuit in the Ancol area, North Jakarta. There, Giring's feet fell into the ground.

At first, while walking around, Giring recorded a video showing himself on an empty stretch of land that will be used as the circuit for the electric car racing event.

Giring predicts that the Formula E circuit cannot be used properly. Considering that this location used to be a swamp and was once used as a dumping ground for mud from various DKI Jakarta Provincial Government projects.

"How come, only five months left, Formula E, the circuit is still like this. It's really not ready. It seems impossible that it will be used properly in June. Obviously this event is problematic in all respects," said Giring.

While still holding the cellphone to record video, suddenly the sleigh's foot fell into the wet ground. He seemed to have a hard time getting his legs out. Until finally, he managed to get out of the "suction" of the mud with the help of others.
