Pekalongan City Government Provides Health Services, Vitamins And Medicines To Flood Refugees

Medical officers are providing free health services to flood refugees in Pekalongan City (ANTARA)

PEKALONGAN - Pekalongan City Government, Central Java, provides free health services to flood-affected residents in a number of refugee locations.

Pekalongan City Health Office Environmental Sanitation Officer Rinto said his party was ready to provide health services in the form of first aid to residents who were affected by floods and evacuated at a number of points.

"This health service aims to ensure the health condition of residents who are in refugee camps and prevent more severe diseases from occurring due to the flood disaster," he said in Pekalongan, Antara, Thursday, January 20.

He said at the activity, his party provided some vitamins and medicines according to the complaints of the refugees. After the health checks were carried out, he said, the average health condition of the refugees was still quite good.

"The health condition of the refugees is generally still healthy and there is no emergency. The refugees only complain of feeling pain and coughing because they might catch a cold," he said.

A refugee Rini said she and other residents had fled since Wednesday night because their place of residence was flooded.

"My child is still coughing and has a cold and thank God the medical team of the Tirto Health Center came here (a refugee camp, ed.) to provide free medical treatment for refugees. We are grateful that the medical staff can immediately pick up the ball to provide free health services," he said.
