JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named the Regent of Langkat, North Sumatra, as a corruption suspect.

To fill the vacancy of regional leadership in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra Governor (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi will soon issue a decree appointing the Deputy Regent of Langkat, Syah Afandin (Ondim) as the regent's daily executive.

"Later, I will write a daily executive letter, Deputy Regent of Langkat," said Gubsu Edy in Medan, Thursday, January 20.

Gubsu Edy did not comment on the case involving the Regent of Langkat Terbit Terbit Warin Angin. But Gubsu Edy said he had reminded regional heads not to be corrupt.

"It's been anticipated that back and forth. We'll remind you later, including myself," he explained.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named six people as suspects in alleged bribery in the procurement of goods and services in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra after carrying out a hand arrest operation (OTT). Five people were named as suspects for accepting bribes and one suspect for giving bribes.

The six people who have been named as suspects for receiving bribes are the Regent of Langkat Terbit Planning to War Wind; The head of Balai Kasih Village who is Terbit Plan's brother, Iskandar PA; and three private persons or contractors, namely Marcos Surya Abdi, Shuhandra Citra, and Isfi Syahfitra.

While a giver is Muara Warin Angin which is a private party or contractor.
