The Mayor Of Tangerang Admits There Are 4 People In His Territory Exposed To Omicron

TANGERANG - Tangerang Mayor Arief R Wismansyah said that in his area there were already 4 people who were exposed to the Omicron variant of COVID-19. This result was known after his party did a tracing four days ago.

"Yes, the information is that 4 (Omicron patients) entered the city of Tangerang. After tracing the information more or less 4 days ago. Initially, 2 and 1 more family members were positive for Omicron," said Arief to reporters in Benda, Tangerang City, Wednesday, January 19.

Arief admitted that he did not know more clearly whether the patient who was exposed to the Omicron variant of COVID-19 was confirmed after traveling abroad or not. Because the data is in the Health Office (Dinkes) Banten Province.

"I didn't know we only got information from the Provincial Health Office, there are 4 in Tangerang City," he said.

When asked which regions were exposed to the Omicron variant of COVID-19, Arief refused to answer. However, he revealed that the four patients who were exposed to the Omicron variant of COVID-19 were undergoing treatment at the hospital.

"I know, but I don't know if I can open it or not. (Essentially) they are still in the hospital,” he said.

On that occasion, Arief emphasized that his party had tried to take anticipatory steps by limiting open spaces. This is done to prevent wider spread.

"So we anticipate that we will limit open spaces, such as parks and public squares while we will close them again. Maybe later we will announce the results of the study," he said.
