BINTAN - The District Attorney's Office (Kejari) of Bintan Regency, Riau Islands, detained the head of the Sei Lekop Health Center with the initials Z, a suspect in a case of fictitious incentives for health workers.

Suspect Z was detained after undergoing further examination at the Bintan Prosecutor's Office. The suspect, who was wearing a red vest, was led into the prisoner's car.

The Head of the Special Crimes Section (Kasi Pidsus) of the Bintan Kejari, Fajrian Yustiardi, said that suspect Z was placed in the Bintan Police Detention Cell. Z was detained for 20 days

"We have entrusted the suspect to the Bintan Police Rutan," said Fajrian, as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 19.

Based on the results of the investigation, the suspect is suspected of making a fictitious report on the working hours and activities of health workers in handling COVID-19 patients. The fictitious incentives come from the 2020-2021 regional budgets

The allocation of incentive funds is Rp. 400 million with a state loss of around Rp. 100 million.

"The health workers have returned the money, but the suspect did not return the money to the regional treasury," he said. During the course of the investigation, the leaders of 14 puskesmas returned the money they had received to the state treasury through the Bintan Kejari.
