Squeezing Chinese Citizens Using Sexy Woman Bait Over The Phone, 10 Foreigners In Batam Deported

BATAM - Class 1 Immigration Office Special for Batam immigration checkpoints deported 10 foreign nationals who were arrested by the police for extortion.

The perpetrators used the bait of a sexy woman when dealing with potential victims by telephone. The target is a Chinese citizen.

"We were deported last week, we were deported to the country", said the Head of Information and Communication Technology of the Class 1 Immigration Office for Batam Immigration Checkpoints, Tessa Harumdila, on the sidelines of the visit of Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yassona Laoly, to Batam by Antara, Wednesday, January 19.

A total of 10 foreigners violated Article 75 paragraph 1 of Law No. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, namely foreigners carrying out dangerous activities and should be suspected of endangering security and public order or not respecting or disobeying the laws. All these foreigners have committed violations, disrupting state order and security.

"So we really have to discipline a person like that. And he did this for the first time in Indonesia, so we deported him", he said.

According to him, the sanction of deportation is considered sufficient. Not until the crime. "Deportation is already pardoned, can not enter Indonesia again", he said.

He said the case had come to the attention of the Chinese Embassy, given the crimes committed in the country.

The suspects only made Batam a place to extort, because the blackmail was carried out against Chinese people. On that occasion, he said his party would cooperate with the police to prevent foreigners from committing similar crimes.

Previously, last Thursday, the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Riau Islands Police revealed a case of fraud and extortion using a sex video phone mode by 10 foreign nationals in Batam City against other foreigners in China.

The Head of Public Relations of the Riau Islands Police, Kombes Harry Goldenhardt, said that of the 10 suspects, nine of them were Chinese citizens and one was Vietnamese, namely TTP, LH, MXJ, ZW, ZCG, LYW, TXQ, MTY, WB, and MXW. All of them were secured in a house in Batam City.

"The suspect carried out his action in August 2021 and they have been in Indonesia since six months ago", said the Head of Public Relations of the Riau Islands Police.

Of the 10 suspects, one of them is TTP who acts as an icon by calling and persuading the victim to balance her movements. The other nine people have roles to profile potential victims, record videos, and extort money.

The crime was targeted at a Chinese citizen, who had previously been mapped by the suspects.
