Anies Claims Work Is Quiet And Complete, But In Fact Jakarta's Flood Points Continue To Increase

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan claimed that the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government immediately moved when Jakarta was rained and flooded on Tuesday, January 18.

According to him, yesterday's flood conditions in Jakarta could be handled quickly thanks to the systematic work of the DKI Provincial Government. Among them deployed more than 100 mobile pumps were activated, as well as dozens of fire trucks, were deployed when the flood occurred yesterday.

Then, as many as 480 stationary pumps were also prepared and immediately activated in areas that were flooded and inundated.

"Everything is mobilized to pump from inundated areas and flow into canals/canals/rivers. It recedes quickly because all resources are mobilized. and done!" Anies said in the @aniesbaswedan Instagram account, Wednesday, January 19. Anies explained that yesterday's flooding could have occurred due to extreme rain. He said rainfall in Kemayoran was recorded at 204 millimeters, in Teluk Gong 193 millimeters, in Pulomas 177 millimeters, and Kelapa Gading 163 millimeters.

"Rainfall above 150 millimeters is an extreme condition. The drainage capacity in Jakarta ranges from 50-100 millimeters. If it rains above 100 millimeters per day, there will definitely be flooding in Jakarta", said Anies.

Therefore, when Jakarta is hit by floods, the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government will prioritize the safety of the affected residents. After that, ensure that pumping efforts are carried out so that the flood can recede within a maximum of six hours after the rain stops.

"Alhamdulillah, thanks to the readiness and responsiveness of the DKI Provincial Government, most of yesterday's flood points have receded on the same day", said Anies.

However, the data from the DKI Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) is actually different from Anies' statement which claims that floods can be handled quickly.

It was recorded that at 09.00 WIB this morning, 64 RTs were flooded up to 1 meter spread across West Jakarta. Then at 12.00 WIB, the flood points increased to 93 RT. Based on the data update as of 15.00 WIB, the flood points have increased again to 102 RT.

"Information of inundation until 15.00 WIB was in 102 RTs or 0.3 percent of the 30,470 RTs in DKI Jakarta", said Head of the DKI BPBD Disaster Information and Data Center, M. Insaf, in his statement.

The flooding occurred in one village in North Jakarta and four villages in West Jakarta. In North Jakarta, 9 RT flooded with water levels reaching 60 centimeters.

Meanwhile, in West Jakarta, the flood submerged 34 RTs in Tegal Alur Sub-district up to 90 centimeters, 32 RTs in Kamal Village up to 50 centimeters, 19 RTs in Cengkareng Barat Village up to 80 centimeters, and 8 RTs in Kapuk Village up to 50 centimeters.

"Inundation in West Jakarta occurred due to high rainfall, rob, and overflow of the Semonggo River. Inundation in North Jakarta caused high rainfall and overflow of Begog River", said Insaf.

Insaf said until this afternoon 1,194 residents were displaced due to their houses being flooded. They took refuge in 16 locations such as prayer rooms, RPTRA, RW secretariat offices, to flats.
