Assaulted By Ciracas Police, Civilians Also Become Victims

JAKARTA - The incident at the Ciracas Police Station, East Jakarta did not only cause material losses. Because, based on data collection, several civilians were also victims of this action.

"There were 6 victims (civilians) but only outpatients, yesterday they were given treatment, they have returned," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Monday, August 31.

One other victim of civilians is an employee of a television media. He was the victim of beatings when the assault incident occurred. Currently ANTV employees are still undergoing investigations with 2 police officers who are victims.

"Only 3 people were treated. 2 members of the National Police and also 1 civilian, namely the ANTV crew," said Yusri.

For victims who are undergoing treatment, said Yusri, they suffered wounds in several parts of their bodies. For example in the eye and bandan due to beatings.

In addition, in order to speed up the recovery process because the injuries suffered were quite serious, it was decided to move to the Central Army Hospital (RSPAD), which before undergoing treatment at the Police Hospital, Kramat Jati.

"A decision was made for the three victims to be transferred to the Army Hospital to receive intensive care for those concerned. Yesterday the three of them were transferred to the Army Hospital," said Yusri.

Previously, dozens of TNI soldiers were suspected of being involved in the attack and vandalism of the Ciracas Police, East Jakarta. Some of them have even confessed their actions.

As sanctions, they will not only serve criminal sentences. Because, it is certain that they will also be fired as members of the TNI.

The action of vandalizing the Ciracas Police, East Jakarta, was said to have been triggered by Prada MI's confession. He admitted to his colleagues that he had been beaten by a number of people. The news was spread through the Whatsapp short message application group. Even though he had a single accident.

As for the destruction of the Ciracas Police, East Jakarta, occurred on Saturday, August 29, in the early hours of the morning. The damage was said to have been carried out by hundreds of unknown people.

The action caused the Police building and several facilities to be damaged. Three members were injured. 2 people are still undergoing treatment.
