6 Months Raid, Boyolali Police Seize And Destroy 300 Brong Exhausts

SEMARANG - The Boyolali Police are following up on the Central Java Police's policy of declaring zero exhaust Brong by conducting regular raids. As a result, hundreds of exhausts were confiscated and destroyed by cutting.

"300 Brong exhausts were confiscated and destroyed. This is the result of raids from July 2021 to January 2022," said the Boyolali Police Chief, AKBP Morrys Ermond through a message received by VOI, Tuesday 18 January.

In front of religious leaders, officials from the Department of Transportation and youth activists, hundreds of non-standard exhausts were cut and then destroyed.

According to the Police Chief, the use of vehicles using non-standard exhausts violates Article 25 paragraph 1 of Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation.

The sanction received by violators is that they can be sentenced to a maximum of one year in prison or a fine of IDR 250 thousand.

"Since January 11, 2022, the Boyolali Police have also taken action against the Brong exhaust and confiscated 200 vehicles of evidence. Currently, the trial is still in progress," added the Chief of Police.

The action against the Brong exhaust is the attention of the Boyolali Police on the direction of the leadership and also because of the many complaints from the public who are disturbed by the sound of the Brong exhaust.

"Many road users also complain that they lose their concentration while driving because of the noise from the exhaust. This has the potential to cause traffic accidents," said the Police Chief.

Meanwhile, the Boyolali community leader, Theodorus Asbanu, admitted that he was happy with the activities of the Boyolali Police. He said, so far people are quite restless with the phenomenon of exhaust bronze.

"This is a reflection of the Boyolali Police's concern for public complaints so far. I am very supportive and very happy," said Theodorus.
