JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) held seven ethics sessions throughout 2021. As a result, there were two KPK employees who were dishonorably dismissed for violating the code of ethics.

"Until December 31, 2021, the Supervisory Board has held an ethics session to examine the alleged ethical violations against seven alleged violations," said member of the KPK Supervisory Board Albertina Ho as shown on the Indonesian KPK YouTube, Tuesday, January 18.

The two employees who were dishonorably dismissed were IGA and TK. However, Albertina did not elaborate further on what the two had done.

Throughout 2021, 238 complaints of violations of the code of ethics were submitted to the KPK Supervisory Board. Of these, 77 complaints related to violations of the code of ethics and code of conduct of KPK personnel.

Furthermore, of the 77 complaints that have been identified, 33 are suspected of ethical violations, of which 25 allegations or 75.76 percent have been completed.

"Meanwhile, as many as 8 allegations or 24.24 percent of the 33 allegations are still in process," said Albertina.

"Perhaps there are still many (thinking, ed), there are still many who are still in the process? Of course, the process of alleged violation of this code of ethics at the KPK Supervisory Board will take time. Moreover, if the report we receive is not supported by evidence- evidence," he added.

Reflecting on this condition, Albertina asked parties who wish to report alleged violations of the ethics of KPK employees to provide evidence. Because, not infrequently media reports are actually used as evidence for reporting.

"Sometimes the reports that come in are only reports in the media. So, there is no evidence at all," he said.

"Well, this of course makes us need enough time to look for evidence regarding the report. So all the reports must be followed up, but the time can be faster because the evidence is easier or has been supported by evidence," concluded Albertina.
