At Polda Metro Jaya, Haris Azhar Is Surprised That The Reason For Not Attending Is Considered Unreasonable

JAKARTA - Lokataru Director Haris Azhar and KontraS Coordinator Fatia Maulidiyanti answered the summons for an investigation into the alleged defamation case at the Polda Metro Jaya. They were surprised that the reason for not attending the examination twice was considered unreasonable.

According to VOI monitoring, Haris Azhar arrived at Polda Metro Jaya at 11.25 WIB. He was accompanied by his attorney.

Five minutes later, Fatia arrived. He followed Haris who was already inside the General Crime Directorate building of the Polda Metro Jaya.

On that occasion, Haris admitted that he was surprised by the forced pick-up by the police. This is because he always includes a letter containing the reasons for his absence in the previous examination agenda.

"If you are not present, I have explained the reason. We will send letters of all kinds," Haris told reporters, Tuesday, January 18.

In fact, Haris was surprised by the reason the police called the forced pick-up on the pretext that he had been absent twice.

"The reason is because it's not natural because you didn't attend twice? I don't know it's not natural, I'm fine with the letter from the first summons, I submitted a letter that it was on the fourth day," said Haris Azhar.

Meanwhile, Fatia said that the reason for not attending the examination was due to work. This has also been officially conveyed to investigators.

So, Fatia was surprised by the police's assessment which considered the reason unreasonable.

"It's only natural that I work not only with the police," said Fatia. Previously, the police explained the reasons behind the arrival of the investigative team to Haris and Fatia's house. One of them is to take them for examination.

This is because the two of them have not been present at the examination twice. Moreover, the reason for their absence is considered irrelevant by investigators. So, it was decided to pick them up.

"Both of them were not present at the examination as witnesses on December 23, 2021 and on January 6, 2022, based on the application letters submitted by the two," said Director of Special Crimes at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Auliansyah Lubis.

"And the summons on January 6, 2022 referred to have been adjusted to the schedule and time determined by the witness. Then both of them submitted an application for an examination on February 7, 2022 on the grounds that they could not leave work," he continued.

Meanwhile, Fatia and Haris are reported cases of alleged defamation. This case was reported by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.

In fact, the current status of the alleged defamation case has been upgraded to the investigation stage. However, both of them are still witnesses.
