Puan Maharani Directly Leads Plenary Meeting On Confirmation Of TPKS Bill And IKN Bill

JAKARTA - The chairman of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, will directly chair the plenary session of the DPR today, Tuesday, January 18. The meeting which started at 10.00 western Indonesia time, contained two important agendas. The first is the ratification of the Draft Law on the Elimination of Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence (RUU TPKS) as an initiative of the DPR. Second, namely the ratification of the Draft State Capital City Law (IKN) into Law (UU).

"Hopefully the two important agendas of the DPR today will bring great benefits for the benefit of the people, nation, and state," said Puan in Jakarta, Tuesday, January 18.

Puan said that the two important agendas in the plenary meeting were in accordance with the decision of the Consultation Meeting in Lieu of the DPR RI Deliberative Body Meeting between the DPR leadership and the leaders of the factions on Thursday, January 13.

Regarding the TPKS Bill, Puan explained, after it became a DPR initiative, then her party together with the government will discuss the bill after the President sends a Presidential Letter (Surpres).

“The presidential decree will contain government representatives appointed by the President to discuss this bill with the DPR. This is also the case with the DIM (problem inventory list) from the government," said Puan.

The PDIP politician hopes that the public can continue to provide input and aspirations to the Indonesian House of Representatives as long as the TPKS Bill is discussed by the government.

"We in the DPR will continue to listen to the aspirations of the community so that we can jointly prevent all forms of sexual violence around us," said Puan.
