The Police Have Pocketed The Community Of Illegal Racers In Bekasi To Be Competed On A Special Track

BEKASI - The Bekasi Metropolitan Police, West Java, is embracing the illegal motorcycle racing community to succeed in the plan for an official motorcycle racing event initiated by the police to facilitate illegal racers so as not to violate the law.

"We have pocketed the names of the community of street racers (wild racers), it's just a matter of communicating with them as well as socializing the plan for this event," said Bekasi Metro Police Chief Commissioner Gidion Arif Setyawan in Cikarang, Monday, January 17.

He said he had mapped out the location for the gathering of young racing lovers based in the Bekasi Regency jurisdiction.

"It has been mapped out which illegal racing groups are on the streets. There are communities in Bekasi," he said again.

Gidion admits that he has at least one month to finalize the official wild racing concept. He immediately coordinated with the Bekasi City Metro Police, and even planned this event to involve the role of the regional government and the TNI.

"The time is as soon as possible because technically it must require comprehensive preparation with other stakeholders. We will plan it as soon as possible with Bekasi City," he said.

Gidion welcomed the plan by the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Pol Fadil Imran who intends to hold another official wild racing event in the Greater Jakarta area after the success of the inaugural event in Ancol, North Jakarta, Sunday, January 16.

According to him, this street race event can reduce the number of street crimes and traffic violations, which are mostly committed by the younger generation.

"This event is to accommodate the activities of the community or youth who like illegal racing so that they are directed and facilitated so that they do not violate the law but they can actually excel," he said.
