Government Implements Bubble System For Mandalika MotoGP Participants

JAKARTA - The government provides a special corridor called the bubble system for MotoGP racing participants at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara on March 20, 2022.

"The competition was held in Mandalika Lombok, a special bubble system will be implemented in Lombok," said Head of the COVID-19 Task Force, Lt. Gen. Suharyanto, quoted by Antara, Monday, January 17.

He said the bubble system or travel bubble is a special corridor formed based on a mutual agreement between countries that have carried out optimal control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"So, the person who comes is not going anywhere. He comes to the airport, enters the hotel, watches MotoGP, returns to the hotel, goes to the airport again, so there is no interaction with other people," he said.

He added that the bubble system was created to ensure that overseas travelers the destination was safe from COVID-19 transmission. "This bubble system makes people sure that they are safe from COVID-19," he said.

The COVID-19 Handling Task Force also asked travelers to Mandalika to bring vaccination certifications or documentation that had been done previously and carry out PCR.

Suharyanto hopes that the bubble system can increase the confidence of the participants and tourists of the Mandalika MotoGP, all activities can avoid the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

"We are also tightening supervision of the implementation of activities to ensure that everything goes according to the applicable health protocols," he said.
