Vaccination For Children 6-11 Years And Boosters For The Elderly Begins In Medan

MEDAN - Vaccinations for children aged 6-11 years and booster vaccinations for the elderly were held simultaneously in Medan City today.

Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution said the vaccination of children aged 6-11 years was carried out in 41 schools, both public and private.

"Boosters are carried out in each Puskesmas. We are chasing vaccinations for the elderly who have been vaccinated twice and have been vaccinated for 6 months (after the first and second doses)," Bobby said, Monday, January 17.

In carrying out the vaccination of the child, Bobby Nasution confirmed the need for the availability of vaccines. However, Bobby Nasution admitted that he had coordinated with the North Sumatra Provincial Government, the Bukit Barisan Military Command I and the North Sumatra Police.

"From the target given by Mr. Kapolda and Mr. Pangdam of 230 thousand children 6 to 11 years old. The target is 51,000 children per day," continued Bobby.

For this child's vaccination, Bobby Nasution said that the injection will be held for 14 days. All vaccinations must be carried out at school and not outside the school.

"The average school injects with vaccination takes two to three days. The average number of students is 200 to 1000 students," he said.

The son-in-law of President Joko Widodo, explained that there are no obstacles to the permission of parents for their children to take vaccinations at school.

"Until now, we have asked the school that there is no crucial problem with people's permits. The most important thing is the vaccine issue. 98 percent have allowed it," said Bobby Nasution.
