PKS President Concerning Pilkada Medan: We Are Facing Heavy Opponents, We Must Work Hard

JAKARTA - President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Sohibul Iman, emphasized that the competition in the Pilkada is very tight. PKS has to work extra hard, including in the Pilkada Medan, South Tangerang, and Depok.

"Everywhere, we think we must face tough opponents and have to work hard, not only Depok, Tangsel, Medan. We don't see who is the bearer of the other candidates,” said Sohibul in a press conference at the PKS DPP on PKSTV YouTube channel, Saturday, August 29.

In the upcoming December 9 simultaneous regional elections, PKS will carry or support candidates in 230 regions. The target is to win 60 percent of the total areas, where PKS participates in supporting candidates. Sohibul said that most political communication in the simultaneous regional elections was carried out with NasDem, then followed by Democrats.

In the Medan Pilkada, PKS will carry Akhyar Nasution-Salman Alfarisi. They will face Bobby Nasution-Aulia Rachman, who is supported by PDIP, Gerindra, PAN. Golkar. In the South Tangerang Regional Election, the daughters of Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, Siti Nur Azizah, and Ruhaman Ben, were assigned. Meanwhile, in Depok, PKS featured Mohammad Idris and Imam Budi Hartono.

"We want to emphasize that the commitment to uphold and support. Inshaallah, PKS will not deny it. PKS will support the candidate. Once the leadership determines, inshallah, all cadres will carry out the decision," said Sohibul in the Pilkada National Coordination Meeting.

He asked the candidate pairs not to worry about PKS' commitment to supporting in this year's Pilkada. Sohibul said that the winning process was not just the role of one party or volunteers. But, all members of the coalition.

"Don't worry, PKS cadres and structures will fight as hard as they can together, ladies and gentlemen," he said.
